Dave Tan Yew Seng

Dave Tan Yew Seng graduated from the University of London with an LLB (Hons) and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2016. Before entering legal practice, Dave gained valuable experience as part of the group legal team of a local listed company specializing in steel fabrication. He began his legal career with Woon Wee Yuen & Partners, assisting Ms. Vicky Ng, and currently resides in the Klang Valley office.

While Dave’s early career included experience in real estate and banking matters, his primary focus is now on litigation. He handles a broad range of contentious matters, including contractual and commercial disputes, debt recovery, family law, and insolvency. Dave is also skilled in advising on wills and estate administration.

His experience includes:

 

• Acted for the seller in arbitration at the AIAC concerning 4 energy projects in Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak, with over RM11 million in dispute.

• Successfully defended a subsidiary of a local listed company against alleged meter tampering claims.

• Represented a Singapore-based construction company, securing judgment against a developer in Klang for breach of contract.

• Procured an order in favor of co-owners to terminate co-proprietorship of a plot of land.

• Defended a director of a local company against fraudulent transaction claims.

 

While litigation forms the bulk of Dave’s practice, he has also been involved in advising local and foreign companies on the acquisition and disposal of commercial and residential properties, as well as negotiating and executing sale and purchase agreements and lease agreements.
